BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK
The Knox
County Humane Society will
celebrate the annual “Be Kind to Animals Week” during the week of May 2-8 with special discounts on adoptions
of cats and dogs.
Be Kind to
Animals Week, is an
annual event started by American Humane in 1915. You can support the
efforts
of your local Humane Society to raise
awareness about care of animals in our homes and community and to
celebrate the
unique bond between humans and animals by becoming a member.
Kindness
toward animals is one of
the building blocks of a humane and compassionate society. Be Kind to
Animals
Week is the ideal opportunity to support your local shelter
by adopting a pet, making a
tax-deductible donation or donations of cat or dog food, litter or by becoming a volunteer.
The Knox County Humane Society is
dedicated
to the care and adoption of homeless and unwanted cats and dogs in Knox
County.
An
important priority for being
kind is taking responsibility for the spay/neuter of your cats
and dogs and helping to end
the critical overpopulation of animals in our county. The
Knox County Humane Society
provides a low-cost spay/neuter clinic for the purpose of
preventing unwanted
litters. For people financially in need, we offer a subsidy for spay/neuter through our local
Interchurch agency.
