Tree Lighting Ceremony and Blessing of the Pets

On Sunday, December 9th, the annual Humane Society tree lighting ceremony and blessing of the pets took place at the Humane Society shelter building. This year, the tree was decorated with 55 colored lights to honor living pets and 70 white lights to remember deceased pets. The Reverend Diane Cook officiated the ceremony. Ten dogs, along with 18 owners and pet lovers, attended the ceremony.

We sincerely appreciate Reverend Cook's support and extend our thanks for her kindness to our cats and dogs. Thanks to all our volunteers. Special thanks to Paul Helser of Helser Tree Farm for donating the tree for our ceremony. And finally, thank you to everyone who supported the program by remembering their special pets, and to everyone who came to the ceremony.
